Wake The Wild Voice:
Writing From The Body
with Kelly Jo Lillian
Sunday, June 14
3-5pm
Many of us carry a creative self that has gone quiet — buried beneath perfectionism, performance, productivity, caretaking, or simply the accumulated weight of being told, in a thousand ways, to be less. Not because that voice is gone. But because it has been waiting for a container safe enough to return to.
The Gemini dark moon is a threshold for creative emergence. The last exhale before something new can be born. A time connected to communication, expression, and the unseen — when the voice that has been waiting beneath the noise is closest to the surface.
This evening is an invitation to meet it.
The vehicles are Body Temple Dance and embodied writing and witnessing — practices that speak to each other across the same threshold.
Body Temple Dance is a guided, free-form, ecstatic movement practice set to music, that works at the place where the emotional body meets the soul, the creative, and the physical. Rooted in somatic wisdom, trauma healing, and ritual, it follows the language the body already speaks: sensation, emotion, image, impulse — the intelligence we are so often taught to override.
Embodied writing is not journaling as task but as transmission. What the body loosens, the page can receive. We write from sensation, image, and inner truth — and those who wish to share are offered the gift of being witnessed by the group, through invitation rather than pressure.
On this dark moon evening together you can expect:
Guided Body Temple Dance journey
Embodied writing explorations rooted in sensation, imagery, and inner truth
Opportunities to share and be witnessed and seen in community — through invitation, never pressure
Simple somatic practices to slow down, listen inward, and deepen presence
A non-performative space rooted in consent, curiosity, and self-direction
Encouragement and tips to support a deeper relationship with writing and journaling, one not focused on output but on gaining deeper entry to truth
This is not a space to perform wellness or arrive already open. It is a space to meet what is actually present — and allow it to move, emerge, and be written into being. All bodies, ages, and levels of experience are welcome. No dance or writing experience necessary.
