Somathai™ training
Module 1: Foundations

with Sarah Seely
September 30th-October 4th
10am - 5pm

Somathai™ is a training in learning the language of the body.
Rooted in traditional Thai bodywork and informed by contemporary somatic understanding, Somathai teaches practitioners how to work with the body as a living, sensing system rather than a collection of parts to be fixed.

Students learn a complete foundational sequence while developing the skills of observation, touch, pacing, adaptation, and relational presence that allow the work to become responsive rather than mechanical. At its heart, Somathai™ is a practice of relational healing. It explores how touch influences the nervous system, how safety supports change, and how healing emerges through relationship - with ourselves, with others, and with the living intelligence of the body itself.

Over the course of five days, students learn far more than a sequence of techniques. They learn how to observe, how to make informed decisions, and how to meet another person with skill, presence, and care. Because healing is not created by technique alone. It emerges through relationship, attention, and the body's innate capacity to move toward safety, organization, and connection.

WHY SOMATHAI™?

Traditional Thai bodywork offers a rich and sophisticated system of touch. Somatic practice offers a deeper understanding of how the body experiences safety, adaptation, and change.Somathai brings these two streams together. The result is a practice that honors the lineage of Thai bodywork while helping practitioners develop the perceptual skills necessary to work with greater sensitivity, responsiveness, and care.

    HOW WE LEARN

Somathai™ is taught through direct experience. Students spend the training both giving and receiving the work, allowing the body to become a place of study rather than simply an object of study.

Through guided practice, observation, discussion, and feedback, students begin to recognize how touch influences the nervous system and how relationship shapes the therapeutic process. Training cohorts are intentionally small to preserve depth, individual attention, and meaningful connection. This allows for personalized feedback, hands-on guidance, and the opportunity to refine skills through repeated practice.
