MAUREEN NEWMEYER

Maureen Newmeyer is a craniosacral therapy practitioner who works on adults experiencing pain, trauma, anxiety, stress, grief, loss. While sensing the craniosacral rhythm, Maureen applies a light and gentle touch which helps to calm the central nervous system, release restrictions, and restore an overall state of wellbeing throughout the body. Using imagery, sound, and/or the breath, Maureen also assists clients in deepening their awareness and discovering the root causes of disharmony while integrating any memories, emotions, and insights that may arise during a session.

Maureen received advanced training in craniosacral therapy with Dr. Ron Wish of the Great River Craniosacral Therapy Institute in Nyack, NY, where she earned her certificate in craniosacral therapy (CST) and somatoemotional release (SER). She then assisted Dr. Wish with his advanced students. Maureen completed Dr. Carol Phillips’s training in dynamic body balancing and myofascial unwinding in Annapolis, MD. Additionally, she received a certificate in expressive arts therapy at the Person-Centered Expressive Arts Therapy Institute in California. Maureen also studied Reiki with Padma Gonzalez at Maha Rose. She is forever grateful to all her teachers for their expertise, wisdom, and guidance.

Maureen’s other experience includes work with bereavement groups and hospice. She has extensive training in the arts and a long background in publishing, speaks (nearly!) fluent French, studies and practices Qigong, and is most inspired by and at home in the natural world.
