Breathwork healer training
level 1

with Melodee Solomon
March 30th-31st
10-6pm
Maha Rose Brooklyn

In Level One Healer Training led by Melodee Solomon, you will learn about the two-stage pranayama breathwork meditation, which is one of the foundational tools of David Elliott’s healing work. You will learn how breath is used in clearing your mind and body of stuck energy, as a path to open the heart.

Exercises and partnered breakout sessions within the class are used to develop your connection to intuition, boost confidence around your gifts and talents to live freely, and open the heart to the power of self-love.

This weekend includes training and guidance with all of David’s healing tools and extensive discussion about the work, the breath, and what it is to heal yourself and others. This class is the first of four levels. Level one is the foundation that will prepare you to eventually work with others and lead breathwork groups (level three). Completing this Level One training will give you the tools to facilitate 1-on-1 private breathwork healing sessions, and to go deeper in your personal practice.

This is the first of four levels that you will need to take in order to be certified as a facilitator in this Breathwork technique. You will need to complete all four levels to receive your certification, so to practice with integrity, safety, and thoroughness.

Levels two through four will focus on exchange, facilitating groups, and will include q&a with David to further refine your practice. You can find more information about the next levels of training with David here: https://www.davidelliott.com/events/

Q & a with melodee solomon

How long have you been practicing breathwork?

I've been a breathwork facilitator since 2014. This work changed my life and continues to amaze, inspire and evolve me. As far as my personal practice goes, I do breathwork about 5 times a week, sometimes more, if I am navigating through transitions that stir up energy/emotions in my life and surroundings.

How did you get into it, and how has it led to where you are now?

I was back working in Los Angeles, returning to a career in real estate development that I was not happy in, but just couldn't walk away from. I felt stuck with no way out. I spent the previous two years in NYC working in bars and restaurants to get away from the office atmosphere -- but ended up leaving NY depleted, wondering why I could sense other people's experiences so deeply, as if they were my own. Angry and sad customers left me feeling angry and sad immediately. I was hyper-sensitive and felt so much. I thought it was all me/mine. Some of it was, some of it wasn't! This was before I ever knew what an empath was. I was at a critical point in life where if I didn't begin to understand energy, I would not be well.

I moved into a new apartment building in LA and met a neighbor who had just finished Healer Training with David Elliott. She gave me his information and I did an in-person private session with him. Though at the time my mind couldn't comprehend what exactly happened in the private session with David, it made my spirit curious enough to sign up for his breathwork healer training.

I slowly transitioned out of real estate development, and began exploring David's concept of creativity as a shortcut to healing. He told me to, "Just keep taking pictures" to support my healing journey and develop my intuition. I was always an artist as a kid, and the more I leaned into creativity coupled with the breath practice, the more I started to feel better about myself, as myself. It was like a withered flower perking up after finding water, sunshine, and fresh air again. I took some photos of my neighbor for her website (the neighbor that initially introduced me to David) and things "accidentally" snowballed from there with my photography career. I eventually merged the two practices where I offer private breathwork sessions before photoshoots, and have been doing both alongside each other ever since. The healing work and creative work go hand in hand for me -- the creative work keeps my intuition flowing, and the intuitive work fuels my creativity.

Who is this training good for? Takeaways from Breathwork training?

Breathwork has become very popular over the last few years, and there are many different breathwork techniques, trainings, and teachers out there at the moment. All serve their own specific purpose.

This particular style of breathwork is focused on one main concept: to open your heart. When the heart opens, perspectives and possibilities broaden. It has the potential to change your relationship to everything within and around you, clear blocks & resistance, heal timelines, and open up channels of energy that can allow you to inspire others to do the same for themselves.

More about Level 1 Breathwork Healer Training:

This Level 1 training is an opportunity to experience the magic of the heart, if you are willing, and will provide you with the tools to facilitate one-on-one private breathwork sessions. I hope you join this Level 1 training with the dedication and ambition to complete all 5 levels of David Elliott's training to get fully certified -- if you approach this work with respect and integrity from the beginning, I believe you'll get more out of it in a clean and sustainable way energy-wise.

This training is good for:

Heart-Centered Change Makers

This training is for those who know deep inside their hearts that it is their soul's purpose to make a difference in their communities and on the planet. Particularly, those who are compassionate and driven towards helping certain demographics that need healing.

Current Healing Arts Practitioners

Foundation, foundation, foundation. This training is an incredible course for developing & strengthening your foundation in the healing arts, no matter what level you are at in your current practice. Breathwork is a great personal tool to help clear yourself energetically after a day of client sessions. Among many other things, you will learn to work with a deeper sense of awareness, Universal Energy vs. Personal Energy, so you don't deplete yourself doing the work you are so gifted at doing.

Artists

Creative, divine, inspiration. This training is for the deep feelers who want to learn how to navigate their sensitivities in a way that can be helpful and constructive. Developing a deeper awareness with yourself through the breath can help you get out of your own way and express yourself, and help others too!

Anyone Who Feels Called to Breathwork

This training is for anyone who is simply following the energy and wants to learn more.

What's in your heart?

I want to share this work with people who can relate to the life-journey I have walked so far. I am first-generation, Filipino-American, queer, an artist, and grew up in a low-income household in a US/Mexico border town (South San Diego). This breathwork practice has single-handedly opened my heart to allow me to see myself in today's society as much more than a "second class citizen." One thing I do know is that the places where we are most "challenged" are the places where our greatest gifts dwell. There was a pivotal moment while taking breathwork training when I realized that all my perceived "flaws" were actually my unique gifts -- they were all the parts that made my essence strong. For a long time I felt like I didn't belong in certain wellness/healing spaces, not because I wasn't welcomed, but because I felt like no one could really relate to my life experiences that I was processing. I don't have all the answers, but I am a dedicated student that takes time to deeply integrate teachings/lessons into my bones before I share with others. I am committed to showing up and creating safe havens for those who are looking for a space to do their healing work in, especially for those who have a similar texture to the path I have walked so far.
