Tuesday, May 28th -- Working with the Dark Moon Lilith in your Natal Chart

with Malorine Mathurin

7pm-9pm

What is the Dark Moon Lilith and how is it represented in our natal charts?

The archetype of Lilith - derived from an old Semitic word for night “lel” or “lelath” and in Arabic “Laylah” meaning ghost or specter - has been represented in various cultures and religions for thousands of years. In Mesopotamia, Lilith was said to be a female night demon, also called a ‘Lamia’ or a ‘witch’ that would hunt and harm male children; in the Talmud, Lilith is described as a succubus who would ingest the human life force, while in the Bible and the ben-Sira, Lilith was the first wife of Adam who refused to assume a subservient role to Adam during sexual intercourse, which led to her ejection from the Garden of Eden, forced to live her life in the wild, alone. Astrologically, Lilith is an invisible body orbiting Earth three times farther away than the Moon, this figure represents the Dark Moon or Lunar Apogee - the space not illuminated by the light of the Moon.

The characteristics of Dark Moon Lilith (our hidden shadow side, our projection of our deepest fears and our toxic emotions) are often seen as a complete counter to those of the Moon (nurturing, protective and where we go for emotional security) in our natal charts.

In this class, we will look at where Dark Moon Lilith is in our charts, by sign and house, and decipher how this dark side of ourselves manifests in our lives. We will learn how to understand and work with the side of ourselves that we often do not like to see, our response to challenging situations, our focus on the lower vibrational forms of our ego and the impending limits to our soul’s growth. We intend to help you shift your focus from fear and loathing to seeing that Lilith is a part of us. We will learn how to integrate her primal, instinctive wisdom and message into our healing process.
