Thursday, July 11th -- Tantric Date Night : Open to All
with Marisa Sullivan
Tantra means to expand- to make all aspects of our life sacred, which is one of the places we get the idea of using our love and our sexual energy as a meditation, a sacred act, and a health, radiance and vision magnifier. In this class, we will look at expanding the possibilities of our coupling and lovemaking. We will use tools to bring more joy and more physical pleasure through inviting all aspects of ourselves- our playfulness, our deep embodiment, our connection to energy, reading and moving it in our own bodies, in our partner’s bodies and radiating our love to expand love in the universe.
This date night is for all couples! Whatever your sexual identity may be, this class is meant to be a special safe space where all sexual identities can be celebrated without fear of judgment. For it is hard to expand unless we do feel safe enough to do so.
It is exciting to relate Queer to the radical roots of Tantra dating back to the 8th to 12th centuries. Tantra turned all social, class, race and gender issues on their heads and set about to break all the rules of right and wrong good and bad. The roots go further back to tribal traditions of Worship of the Great Mother who was seen as prior to gender differentiation a hermaphrodite who is considered a mother in that he/she was able to internally couple and bring about creation.
What we will do in this class-
*Practice Loving Kindness or Metta Meditation- giving and receiving to our partners and collectively sending the couples expanded love into the universe.
*Learning how to apply this practice in the act of lovemaking.
*partner and simple acro yoga poses to embody and connect
*breath and sound as a tool for communicating energy
*tuning into touch exercises
*asking great questions and exploring answers and possibilities
