Card of the Week: April 27, 2015

“Then the Seer abides in Itself, resting in its own True Nature, which is called self-realization.” - Yoga Sutras

Here stands the Hermit--the ninth card in the major arcana who stands on the path between Mercy and Beauty on the Tree of Life. His path is one from Jupiter to the sun, beneficent ruler and gift giver to that which is exalted most high. We are honored by his presence and have a quiet reminder to take some time alone this week to sit with yourself.

Ruled by Virgo, the Hermit is an earth card and speaks to the Intelligence of Will. His profile hides half of his face that is bathed in the light of ecstatic encounter with the Divine. Think of the "Ecstasy of St. Theresa". The mystic is with us, in fact the mystic is within us. See the Hermit draw the inner light of the six pointed star from within himself into his lantern illuminate the path ahead. It is the inner light that guides us.

Use your will to withdraw from distractions that prevent you from keying into the infinite source of wisdom within you. Get out your peridot stone (associated with the Hermit) and prepare for the journey within. The light gets brighter from here on out.
