Tarot Card of the Week: February 23rd, 2015

Here comes the sun, lil’ darlin, here comes the sun, I said...it’s alright.

by Carolyn Agis

How wonderful to receive the Sun upright at this very moment of winter--the very symbol of warmth, regeneration, and light. The Sun reminds us that it is time to believe, to be reborn and ride upon the quiet wisdom of our subconscious mind.

The 19th card of the Major Arcana, the Sun, is the archetype of the Fool reborn. The great work of the sun, the fool’s journey where the path is illuminated by both masculine and feminine power. Look at the sun’s rays and see how each ray varies from linear (radiation) to wave (vibration), demonstrating both the masculine and feminine energy that emanates from the single divine source of light. Purity of intention (the child) within the secret, walled garden of the soul, is carried forward by spirit (the horse) with Mars energy in hand (the red flag waving).

Consider your heart. How can the sun transform it? How can the warmth of the mystical marriage between male and female principles open you up to the childlike wonder innate within your soul. Belief, wholeness, presence, and newness. There is light and joy to be experienced within you first and foremost. Warm yourself from the inside out and then will you be able to release yourself from this false “winter of your discontent”. Feel the sun upon your head, lift your hand to touch it--you will realize that there are already flowers in your hair.
